Technical advice for outdoor education and adventure activity providers
Providing adventure activities is a balance between managing risks and allowing opportunities for clients to experience true adventure, we currently provide technical advice and consultation services to schools, local authorities and adventure activity companies to enable them to ensure they operate in a manner that is safe and represents good practice.
It is widely accepted that adventure activity providers should have quality safety management systems that reflect current good practice and that have been verified / audited by an independent technical expert. Our extensive experience and highest level of qualification puts us in a position to offer technical expert advice across a range of outdoor adventure activities.
The consultation and technical advice service we offer means that you can put our years of experience in the outdoor industry on an international scale to work for your organisation; we can provide technical advice and take on the role of technical advisor in all aspects of outdoor education and adventure activities.
Having ATC do this can provide external validation, review or creation of safety operating documentation such as operational procedures, risk assessments and emergency action plans, in doing this you help ensure your operation is continually working to the best / accepted practice and also adds value to the activities provided by having outside influences on alternate approaches of delivery, which ultimately provides a better experience for your clients and increases safety margins.
Our consultation service can be combined with custom (or site specific) training services to create a comprehensive review and validation of your procedures and staff training, creating a more integrated operation with staff better equipped for the role you require them to fulfil.
Our areas of expertise include:
- Climbing/ abseiling and mountain activities – introductory on artificial structures (towers, ropes course etc) through to multi pitch trad lead climbing on natural surfaces
- All paddle sport activities – Kayaking, open canoeing and rafting, introductory flat water environments through to grade 3 + whitewater, sea kayaking and surf kayaking
- Combined rock and water activities – Canyoning, coasteering, gorge walking
