Porongurup Guided Rock Climbs (multi pitch)

Multi pitch rock climbing involves climbing a long route that ascends a large rock face often several hundred metres high.

This trip involves ascending a route of more than 200 metres on a large and impressive granite dome within the Porongurup range, the route finishes at the top of the dome and provides impressive views over the landscape and of the Stirling ranges to the north.

The Day – Your day will start out by meeting up with your guide and travelling to the Porongurups, the impressive granite dome can be seen on the drive in and should start to get you excited for the day.

Once at the rock there is a thirty to forty minute approach walk through the bushland and forest to get to the base of the route, after we reach the base the only way is up!

Your guide will explain and teach you the required skills then proceed to “lead” up the route, they will ascend each pitch first then you will climb behind them, they will ensure your safety throughout.

After several pitches and more than 200 metres of rock face you will “top out” and be standing on the summit of the dome enjoying the achievement and the views.

From there we will descend via a rough walking track off the back of the dome and return back to the vehicle via the bush / forest walk, taking with you excellent memories and impressive pictures.

This trip is suitable for most people, no specific climbing experience is required, the route is “slab” climbing which means the angle is not to steep, this makes it an achievable outing for people who are active and have a sense of adventure.
