South Coast Rock Climb / Abseil Experience

Getting out on the rock is great fun, if you would like to experience the enjoyment of rock climbing then this could be the trip for you…

This trip involves spending part of the day at one of the local crags and enjoying the climbing routes available there, we will do a mixture of single pitch routes, some will be belayed from the bottom (much like an indoor climbing wall) and some will be belayed from the top (allowing you to “top out” on the route).

The Day – The day will start with meeting up with your guide for the day (either at the venue or in town), upon arriving at the venue we will take a short 15 minute walk to get to the rock face, the guide will set up a number of different rope systems to allow you to safely attempt a number of different climbing routes.

Before attempting any of the routes everyone will be kitted up with harnesses, helmets and rock shoes, the guide will explain and teach the required skills of tying in and belaying to allow members of the group to be involved with safeguarding each other, once ready the rock climbing fun begins.

Most people are fairly natural climbers but in order to help you tackle routes your guide will give you some instruction and coaching on good climbing technique to help improve your abilities, being an enthusiastic climber themselves your guide will find it very easy to discuss all things climbing.

For this trip no particular experience is necessary, you should enjoy being in the outdoors (because we will be outside) and challenging yourself, this is a very accessible trip for all, because we are based at one location it allows us to tailor the climbs / challenge to the needs of the group.

We usually run this trip at a crag in Denmark, which is further back from the sea and sits up on the hill, it has spectacular views out over the south coast beaches, the routes here are higher (and feel higher by being up on the hill) generally up to around thirty metres high.
